Spain is having protests constantly, unemployment is on the rise, and tons of other problems. (My grandmother only watches Spanish and Italian channels, so we get that info straight from them)

eldian its called media hype. you want to know what it can do. two days ago one MP says people should stockpile some fule in case of a fule tanker driver strike and alot of people start panic buying. the gargages actually ran out of fule.


besides the spanish are always complaing about something. in a month or so they will probably be complaining about the olympics. and its not as if this sort of thing hasnt happened before.

control the media; control the mind.

people tend to blindly accept whatever the media say's is true.
I myself am no exception I must admit.

Especially when it involves negative news; people believe negative things rather than positives.

Of course everything is hyped! But good thing are also hyped, so while Spain and Greece may not be as bad as I think, Germany and France are not as good either.
And the prostest are there, hyped or not, they are not photoshoping people on the streets. (To be fair, Spanish people is seriously ridiculous, they are 'indignant' about some problems their country have, and here we are like 'You HAVE to be kidding me!' It's like those memes of 'First World Problems', but in real life. DX

Last year, there was an earthquake here, epicenter elsewhere in the country, but felt in the capital, it was raining, the city flooded like Venice in high tide, and it was hailing. It looked like the world decided to simply screw us, and what did the government TV channel said? 'The situation in the capital has been normalized' cue to change channel to an actual one to see live footage of the highway looking like the Amazon river with cars floating.
THAT is the media being a bitch.

we dont have media hype in the uk s much as extreme media bias.

Watching any nation channel is poisonous.
I have seen news from other countries which also have people that do not like their presidents, but at least the media tries to inform without too much a bias, here the bias IS the news. -.-
