I gotta say, I love the game. It's fun, addicting, and a very nice looking game. I want to get into computer science, either doing AI with robotics or video game programming, and it's inspiring to see such an awesome game made by only two people (aside from sound effects/music). I can't wait to see what else you guys come up with :)

Yeah, there is a sequel in the making. The dude who made this game already wrote about 3 books. The sequel covers the Altairian/Seeker alliance making contact with the UEO lot back in Solar, Centauri, Bernard and Formalhaut. Then theres an all out war between the two factions.

I came up with some ideas for chapter 4 involving dysons spheres, solar system sized death stars and intergalactic wormholes, but I doubt the dev team will take any of my ideas seriously.

If you've got any ideas for a sequel, lets hear them.

Glad you enjoyed the game as much as I did

WOW!! I LOVE THIS GAME !!!

I've been a professional programmer for twenty plus years, and wanting to program my own game was what got me into the field in the first place. What this game comes off being, is the kind of game I kept trying to create on my own! Unfortunately I never got to write such a wonderful game as this, before the world of business grabbed me up, sucked all the joy out of the profession, and now finally spit me back out twenty years later - possibly for good the way the economy is going. So last night I come across this game, joyfully play it until the sun comes up and my eyes are burning in my head, and somehow life seems to have come full circle

Anyhow, I'm just happy to have all the time in the world for now to play games like this, and be reminded that some programmers do get to create cool stuff like this, instead of crap business applications for egghead managers who can't even find the 'on' switch on their own computers

KEEP ON CODING AND CREATING AMAZING STUFF LIKE THIS!!

It's what keeps the rest of us geeks sane ;)

PS - One problem with your website - if you click the 'Order Now' button at the top of the page for Light of Altair, you are taken to BMT Micro to place your order, where you enter all your information only to be told at the end of the transaction that they no longer sell the game :?

One thing that bugs the hell outta me, is that the difficulty resets to normal all the time, i select one mission on hard, play through, then carry onto the next, but half way through i find out its on normal, so i have to start all over again to get 100%. Ive wasted hours going for 100% score, only to find out the difficulty has reset to normal

So i have bought the game finally.... started playing Venusian divide and i notice that you putted 15 colonies cap on the planet why???? it was so nice to have whole Venus conquered and covered with my colonies...

i also noticed that the ore isn't stocked so it is practically waisted if you don't have the industrial center......
Also i have question do i have to download some kind of patch or it is already patched up. I have bought it through BMTMicro....

The game is fantastic but still i can be an much greater......

I never noticed the colony limit. True, in that scenario you could cover the whole planet, but in most of the scenarios that won't be practical. I agree it's a limitation, but I don't think it hurts the game strategy. I assume they did the cap for memory purposes but don't know.

I agree the ore behavior is strange. It appears you convert goods from ore at the rate of about 1 unit per game-month, cumulative, but sometimes longer. A warehousing system or other, better tracking would help. IMO, such mechanics should be transparent to the player.

The patched version is 1.0.1, which I downloaded from this site. The changes are minor. If building plans "stick" to you mouse pointer, then you've got the unpatched version.
